Shrimpton wins Bert Sutcliffe Medal

At the 2006/07 New Zealand Cricket awards former Tech and Hawke's Bay legend Mike Shrimpton was honoured with the Sutcliffe Medal for outstanding services to cricket.

Shrimpton has scored the most runs in the History of Hawke's Bay Cricket scoring over 17,000 and has served cricket in New Zealand as a Test and First-Class player, coach and selector in a life-long association with the game.

He played ten Tests during the 1960s and 70s and was honoured with the Sutcliffe Medal for outstanding services to cricket. After a first-class career spanning nearly 20 years, Shrimpton also coached the New Zealand women's team to their World Cup triumph in 2000.
